Women Rehabilitation Centre (WOREC Nepal) has published a report ‘Anweshi’ highlighting the #16days #ornagetheworld stating more than 400 cases of violence against women (VAW) were registered during April 25 earthquake. The situation of VAW cases in Nepal has been increasing where the concern authorities are silent about the issue. As per the report states most of the victimized women were learnt to be those residing in the temporary shelters following the quake, reveals the organisation working against violence against women (VAW).

The report also states gender-based violence highest cases of VAW was recorded in various districts of Tarai, which amounts to 82.3 percent where the mountainous region recorded 13 per cent of VAW cases. Similarly 0.2 percent of cases were registered in the hilly region.
