A British National Martin Travers, 44, was arrested during a protest outside Singha Durbar. He was arrested  after reports of foreigners  taking part in the anti-government protest went viral on social media. Travers is an artist who took part in yesterdays protest against Nepal’s constitution, staged by the Federal Alliance outside Singha Durbar. Travers has been actively involved in relief distribution work and had returned to Nepal on the first anniversary of earthquake to continue his relief program.
Nepal’s immigration law,  does not allow any foreigner or tourist  to take part in any sort of activism.

The Federal Alliance protesters have been  demanding changes to the new Constitution. From Sunday hundreds of activists and  protesters from the Madhesi and other ethnic groups have been demonstrating. During the first stage, they protested in front of the government administrative center Singha Durbar and  they have  shifted their protest to the prime minister’s quarter , blocking traffic and chanting anti-government slogans.
