March 17, 2025 – The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has officially announced the locations for its upcoming Community Forums, ICANN85 and ICANN88, set to take place in 2026 and 2027, respectively.
ICANN85 will be hosted in Mumbai, India, at the Jio World Convention Centre from 7–12 March 2026. The event will be organized in collaboration with the National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI), marking a significant milestone for the Asia Pacific region in global Internet governance discussions.
Following this, ICANN88 will take place in Lisbon, Portugal, at the Lisbon Congress Center from 13–18 March 2027. Hosted by Associação DNS.PT, this will be the second time Lisbon welcomes an ICANN Public Meeting, with the last one being ICANN28 in 2007.
ICANN hosts three Public Meetings annually across different global regions, reinforcing its commitment to an inclusive, multistakeholder model of Internet governance. These gatherings facilitate policy development, knowledge exchange, and engagement with stakeholders from governments, businesses, technical communities, and civil society.
With over 100 sessions, ICANN Public Meetings provide a platform for diverse discussions on critical Internet-related policies. They remain free and open to all, with both in-person and remote participation options available.
