The Nepal Election phase two or the remaining election which is schedule to be  held from  June 14 seems to be dwindling  with the new orders released by  Supreme Court of Nepal.  The Supreme court on Friday has issued an interim order in the name of the Nepal Government  not to implement the cabinet’s decision to increase the constituency or the number of local units in the Terai region during the second phase of election.
As per the Agreement of the Madeshi union with the then government and ruling parties  to join election upon the enactment of the new constitution amendment bill which majorly focused on  the number of  constituency or the number of local units in the Terai region. The cabinet decided to increase  number of the local units were increased from 744 local levels to 766.
Highlighting the Article 295 of the constitution , A division bench of Justice, Sapana Malla Pradhan and Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada decided to stay the decision. The sub-article 3 of Article 295 of the constitution, clearly  states that the government could form a commission for the determination of the number and boundaries of Village units, Municipalities and Special, Protected or Autonomous Regions.
In according to the news the Madeshi union has announced protest programs targeting to disrupt the  second phase of local level elections scheduled for June 14. The party has said it will not let the government hold the elections in Terai region unless its demands including the constitution amendment are met.
The party has called a general strike on June 1 and 2 so as to affect the nomination submission programs scheduled for June 2. Likewise, the party will padlock election offices in rural municipalities and municipalities on May 30 and will hold torch rallies in district headquarters on the next day.
The party has warned to announce other sterner programs if the government does not begin procedures to endorse the amendment by June 2.
Summary of Nepal Election Phase one
According to the Election Commission Nepal the first phase of Nepal Election 2017 has successfully secured 13, 033 local representatives in 280 local bodies have been elected in 34 districts in Province number 3, 4 and 6.  280 candidates have been successfully  selected as mayors, 280 candidates as deputy mayors, 2, 526 candidates as ward chairpersons, 2, 521 candidates as women members and 2, 380 candidates as Dalit woman members representative during the first phase of local polls.
