Nepal shut down program makes normal life hard

Kathmandu, Nepal May 17, 2012: Nepal Shut down program of Thursday has hit the Nepalese people hard in regards to their daily lives and in their operational activities. From early morning roads were empty and shops were closed. The Joint Struggle Committee for National Integrity and Ethnic Goodwill Committee has threatened the government for an uncertain shutdown program till the time there voices have been heard. The committee has been condemning the current government decision of adopting the ethnic based federalism. Seemingly hub place like Kalanki, Putalisadak, New Baneshware etc were seen tensed from early morning but no confrontation has been reported till now.

Tourist and travelers have been hugely hit by this shutdown program where most people were seen stranded in entry point of Kathmandu. Looking at the volatile situation large number of security forced has been deployed in regards of safeguarding the public property.

Recently the current government announced the provincial structure would be 11 provincial states, and 371 Parliamentary members in the central government. Out of the total 371 members 1 71 members would be elected by election, upper house 60 members and remaining 140 members would be elected from proportion.
