Thousands of kathmanduties took it to streets on Friday with grief and sorrow in their hearts following a peace protest of “Justice for Shaan” . Shaan Prajapati was a 14-year-old fun loving Nepali student who was studying at the 9th grade of Sherwood College Nainital who was declared dead by a Noida-based hospital on November 14 due to septicaemia. Neena Shrestha mother of Shaan has been calming the death of Shaan caused by ignorance and carelessness shown towards his son’s medical treatment. According to Neena Shrestha, “ The college management completely ignored my son’s health condition. He was severely ill and they didn’t inform me. In fact I got to know about his illness from one of the Shaan friend’s parent who called me and informed me about his condition. The school management completely ignored this and later when they transported him to Delhi also, he lacked proper care which resulted in his death.” Neena Shreshtha has lodged a case of death due to negligence under IPC Section 304A against school authorities. The Times of India Quotes, “The 145-year-old school has suffered considerable loss of reputation in the past eight to ten years under Sadhu, mainly due to his corrupt practices.”
