Kathmandu Nepal: The Self immolation free Tibet Activist who burnt himself on the premises of Bouddhanath Stupa on February 13 2013, is still lying unclaimed in the mortuary of TU Teaching Hospital, Maharajgunj. February 13 marks ‘100 years of proclamation of Tibet’s independence’ by the 13th Dalai Lama.
22 years old Drupchen Tsering had set himself to fire against the Chinese rule in Tibet who was pronounced dead in the hospital that very night.
According to the Nepal Police, “Few of the Tibetan organizations came front for the body but due to lack of evidence we did not submitted the body. The body can be submitted only to the concerned family members who have the legal rights.”
This is the 101st self-immolation, since 2009, in protest against the suppressive Chinese rule in Tibet. Nepal homes to more than 22,000 Tibetan exiles, who have been residing in Nepal in different refugee camps and Monasteries.
