The Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook Inc. said in an interview,” With all the controversies and issues of facebook, it will take few years for facebook to solve the issues of the social media tech company. He expressed his willing to  solve all these issues in three months or six months, but reality is that solving some of these questions is just going to take a longer period of time. From last year, facebook started investing more in security trying to create better understanding and solving the privacy and data related issues.”
In recent revelation that Cambridge Analytica, a  political consulting firm obtained private data of some 50 million Facebook users during the President Donald Trump’s election campaign. After the news came out Facebook’s shares have dropped about 14 percent since the news emerged and Zuckerberg has been called to testify before Congress in coming weeks. Politicians in the U.K. and the European Union have also requested Zuckerberg to come explain how Facebook protects the privacy of its 2 billion monthly users, and Missouri’s attorney general announced Monday that he is launching a wide-ranging probe into Facebook.
Facebook shares were down 1.4 percent in premarket trading in New York to $157.50.
There has been various other controversies where  Facebook has been under high scrutiny, along with other social media companies, for failing to crack down on Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
Now the big question is the there will be election happening all over the world in 2018, what would be facebook stand against the overall concept of Privacy and data protection.
