The Chinese Social Media App TikTok which has currently been downloaded in more than 1 billion devices has now been cited as a  security and vulnerability threat  in its use and management.  The APP which is famous in youth and teenagers is red listed by governments of developed nations sensing it as the bad influence and data mining  issues making it a political propaganda against the Chinese rising. The case may be a good example of the technology divide with what internet and social media is capability of doing but more reluctantly citing the whole issue of power politics in internet and anti Chinese campaign.

(CNN)President Donald Trump on Thursday issued executive orders that would ban the social media app TikTok and WeChat from operating in the US in 45 days if they are not sold by their Chinese-owned parent companies.

India’s government last June banned nearly 60 Chinese mobile apps on Monday, including TikTok, highlighting national security concerns, after a deadly clash between their militaries this month raised tensions between the two countries to the highest level in decades.

TikTok is a Chinese video-sharing social networking service owned by ByteDance, a Beijing-based Internet technology company founded in 2012 by Zhang Yiming. It is used to create short music, lip-sync, dance, comedy and talent videos of 3 to 15 seconds, and short looping videos of 3 to 60 seconds. ByteDance first launched Douyin for the Chinese market in September 2016. Later, TikTok was launched in 2017 for iOS and Android in most markets outside of mainland China; however, it only became available worldwide, including the United States, after merging with Musical.ly on August 2, 2018.

Technology is technology what US produces or others there should not be any inferiority against the standards but the same thing is applied in different ways when done by google and Facebook. This is acceptable where as tiktok has been labeled as a bad  and indiscreet in terms of the Chinese influence to the cyber security and data privacy issues.

The hypocrisy of the internet standards lies hidden with the government of what they want to show and see the people. its not what the people want to see but its more about  what the government wants their citizen to see.
